Do you have a good business idea but you lack of experience and funding to move forward with your idea? This is not a problem anymore thanks to initiatives like Proyecto Lanzadera.
Jointly with the UPF Business Shuttle, we had the pleasure of bringing in the UPF this start-up accelerator, whose promoter and founder is Juan Roig, president of the supermarket chain with the highest turnover in Spain, Mercadona.
Javier Sáez, director of projects in Lanzadera, didactically introduced us the functioning of the start-up accelerator. Since 2013, Proyecto Lanzadera helps entrepreneurs to transform their projects into business realities. The chosen projects receive, during the 11 months the program lasts, personalized mentoring and training on the key areas for the development of their ideas. Moreover, Lanzadera offers to each selected project up to 200.000 euros of financing through a loan with no interests. As they say: “if the idea is good, money can’t be an excuse to make it happen”.
On the conference we could also knew first-hand the huge learning Proyecto Lanzadera can offer to entrepreneurs. That was possible thanks to Jorge Herrero, co-founder of Dotten, one of the selected projects in Lanzadera’s 2014 edition.
Dotten is a brand of men’s fashion accessories with own designs. By the moment their time on the accelerator was over, they already succeeded on opening two stores in Barcelona and expanding the initial team with two more persons. Those achievements for sure are only the start of a bright future for them.
Who says that among one of the curious students who attended this event, there can’t grow one of the selected projects in upcoming Lanzadera editions?
